Knowing that the two kung fu superstars Jet lee and Jackie Chan made a movie for the first time together really excites the fans. Comparing to the past kung fu movies of Chan and Li, this movie is different and is totally a surprise.
The combination of the hilarious fighting style of Jackie Chan and the kick-ass moves of Jet Li gives the audience entertaining fight scenes that had never been shown before. The inclusion of a an American boy(Michael Angarano) was not that disappointing but also not what people expected for the movie. It turned out that these two legends of martial arts are just the supporting actors for him.
The story revolved around Jason(Angarano) even in the beginning as a kung fu movies fanatic but doesn't really know how to fight using it. There was no background on where Jackie Chan and Jet Li came from and just appeared all of a sudden to accompany the boy. The first fighting scene of Chan and Li was really intense and thrilling. A great addition coming also out of nowhere was golden sparrow(Liu Yifei). Together the four marched into battle as they try to accomplish each one's personal mission. It was full of fighting scenes that displayed the contrast of styles between Chan and Li.
Overall, the movie is "ok" but it was lighter than expected. The hilarious parts are the ones that will be remembered for sure. It is a wholesome film with lots of action and comedy.
